Figure has unveiled its redesigned second-generation humanoid robot, claiming it as the "highest performing humanoid robot to market." Initially targeting production lines, the new model promises future bipedal home assistance. The redesign includes a complete hardware and software overhaul, featuring upgrades in AI, computer vision, and onboard microphones for human interaction, developed with OpenAI. Founded by Brett Adcock in 2022, Figure aims to deliver commercially viable general-purpose robots.

🔧 New: Structured Outputs in API for Perfect JSON Schema Matching

We’re introducing Structured Outputs in the API, a new feature ensuring model-generated outputs precisely match developer-provided JSON Schemas. While last year’s JSON mode improved model reliability, it didn’t guarantee schema conformity. Structured Outputs addresses this by constraining models to match specific schemas, enhancing accuracy for generating structured data from unstructured inputs. Our latest model, gpt-4o-2024-08-06, achieves a perfect 100% in schema conformity, compared to less than 40% in previous versions.

Meta is negotiating with celebrities such as Awkwafina and Judi Dench to use their voices for its AI digital assistant, seeking broad usage rights across its platforms.
