💸 OpenAI’s $4B Spend: ChatGPT’s Costly Future!
OpenAI anticipated spending about $4 billion on Microsoft's Azure servers for ChatGPT inference in 2023, which could lead to significant financial losses. While OpenAI is generating around $2 billion annually from ChatGPT, it may need extra funding within a year to cover a projected $5 billion shortfall. The organization currently uses 350,000 Nvidia A100 chip servers, primarily for ChatGPT, benefiting from discounted rates with Azure.
